The history of Alexandra School, Tarn Taran, is a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and dedication. Our story begins in the late 19th century, when the Venerable Rev. Robert Clark founded Alexandra School, Amritsar, with the noble objective of providing quality secondary education to the girls in the North West region of the country.
On December 27, 1878, Alexandra School, Amritsar, was dedicated with the initial grace extended by Bishop French of Lahore. Over the years, the school grew into a premier institution of learning, shaping the minds of girls and nurturing them with moral values and academic excellence.
In the present day, Alexandra School, Amritsar, stands as a co-educational Senior Secondary School affiliated to the CISCE board, New Delhi. The seed that was planted in 1878 by Revd. Clark, has taken root, and in 2023 is rapidly spreading itself over the land, bearing new fruit.
With this aim and determination of excellence, Alexandra School, Tarn Taran, has been founded for Tarn Taran and its elite, with the aim of extending the same excellence in education. Hope that in future years it shall be able to grow to a great tree, shaping the potential of our children, infusing them with the strength to live life with integrity and honor, and molded through a harmonious integration of spirit, mind, and body.
The Tarn Taran chapter of Alexandra School began on August 28, 2022, with plantation and dedication led by the Most Revd. Dr. P. K. Samantaray, Bishop of Diocese of Amritsar and Chairman of the School. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new school building, performed by the Chairman on October 23, 2023, marked a significant milestone in the school's history.
